Recycle plastic bottles into pots for your plants! They are cheap, beautiful and can be easily placed on the balcony or in small gardens, getting more space for growing.
YOU NEED:
-some plastic bottles with a volume of 5 liters;
-a cutter;
-a pair of scissors;
-pieces of PVC pipe with a length of 25.5 cm (the diameter of the pipe should be 1-2 mm smaller than the diameter of the mouth of the plastic bottle);
-a welder;
-acrylic colors + brushes;
-Universal substrate;
-plants or rooted cuttings of plants;
-backwater.
METHOD:
1.Remove the handle and plastic ring from under the bottle cap. You also need to remove the label.
2. Using the cutter, cut the bottle into 3 equal parts. Even the edges of the top and bottom third with scissors.
3. Insert the PVC tube onto the mouth of the plastic bottle.
4. Using the glue gun, make 9 drainage holes in the bottom of the bottle (1-2 of them should be right in the center of it) and another 5 holes in the lid.
5. Paint the side walls of the lower third of the glass (the bottom is left as such) and the upper third with the PVC pipe, using the color, you like. Let them dry.
6. Place the PVC pipe in the center of the bottom third of the bottle. Fill it with substrate, tapping it well with the palms of your hands, to secure the tube.
7. Place the perforated cap in the center of the top third of the bottle. Then fill it with substrate. This way you will get a plate with 2 levels.
8. Plant rooted seedlings or cuttings in potted substrate. Water them well with standing water.
Good work!
